  My partner and our 1 year old decided to stop overnight in Stranraer before our morning ferry to Belfast. Looking at various places to stay we came across "The Old Manse" website, looked really nice so we booked for 1 night. After we made the booking I phoned back to double check the price? Very reasonable. When we arrived we were made very welcome, lovely house, excellent rooms and a really nice family. At breakfast she took our son off for a look round the house while me and my partner had breakfast, were there was a varied choice from fresh fruit to full cooked, which was freshly prepared. Would highly recommend and also in the future would have no hesitation to stay there when we go to Ireland. Thank you to Marilyn and her family.

  I can't recommend this place enough. I've never felt so at home away from my own home. We were lucky to be the only guests staying there at the time but I know Marylin would have accommodated everybody's schedules for travel, food, etc. She offered to give us a lift to/ from the train and the ferry (I wouldn't dream of putting anyone out like that) and actually let us wire her the money for our stay when we didn't read the fine print and assumed she took credit cards - that's unheard of kindness in my book.
